Mrs. Dorothy Wallace

WALLACE, Dorothy C. Fox "Dot", 92, of Franklin, TN, passed away at 6:45PM at Alive Hospice in Nashville, Tennessee on March 30, 2012. She was born on May 7, 1919 in Reddington, IN. to Ben H. Fox and Nellie Davis Fox. She graduated from Seymour High School in 1937, from Milligan College in 1941, and completed advanced degrees from Peabody College, just short of receiving her doctoral degree. She married Robert Taylor Wallace in 1959 at Reddington Christian Church, and they made their home in Tennessee, living most of the time in Franklin, TN. Her husband preceded her in death in December, 1977. She retired from a career as an English teacher, having last taught at John Trotwood Moore Junior High School. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters, Josephine Townsend and Marjorie Fox, and two brothers, Edwin B. Fox and Eugene D. Fox. She is survived by two brothers, John M. Fox of Reddington, IN, and Hubert M. Fox of Raymond, Neb., and by numerous nieces and nephews in Tennessee, Indiana, and Nebraska. Tennessee relatives include niece, Martha Wallace (Dr. John) Pittenger of Maryville, TN; nephews, Robert Ellis (Margaret) Wallace of Marietta, GA, Dr. Rodger T. Wallace of Nashville, TN, John Oliver (Connie) Wallace of Knoxville, TN, and William Lewis (Janet) Wallace of Franklin, TN; cousin-in-law, Alice (Marvin) Wallace. The funeral service will be held 11:00AM Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home, Jim Taylor officiating. Interment, Mt. Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Reddington Christian Church.
