Mrs. Gertrude Fox

FOX, Mrs. Gertrude Parham, age 92 of Thompson's Station, TN died Tuesday, October 22, 2013. Long time member of Neapolis United Methodist Church since 1951. Daughter of the late Hardie & Nora Parham. Known as Mama Gert, she grew up during the Great Depression. She was the Assistant Manager at H.G. Hill's in Belle Meade during WWII. In 1947, she married her husband, James Edgar Fox, and together they established the family farm. Following his death in 1978, she maintained and managed that farm. She was a loving, caring friend to everyone she met and was always there to visit those in need. Her quick sense of humor brought joy and amazement to her many friends and loving family. She enjoyed cooking and baking for others. An accomplished seamstress, she was very creative and independent. Preceded in death by her sisters, Lorene Sullivan, Jewell Akin & Lucille Barnhill; her brothers Clyde, Herbert & H.C. Parham, Jr. She was extremely proud of her family who survive her, daughters Judy (Donny) Jackson and Bettye Sue (Richard) Ebner all of Thompson's Station, TN; grandchildren, James Eric (April) Jackson and Emily Catherine Ebner; great grandchild, Ethan; sister in-law, Elizabeth A. Fox of Nashville, TN; greatly loved her nieces & nephews as well as many special friends. Funeral services will be conducted 3:00PM Friday, October 25, 2013 at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home, Rev. Keith Sherwood & Rev. Philip Wright officiating. Interment, Williamson Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers: Terry Akin, David Barnhill, Michael Parham, Bill Fraser, Carl Brooks, Barry Crotzer, Marty Crowder, Kevin Akin and Mark Mundy. Honorary pallbearers: Neapolis United Methodist Church Congregation, James Mills, J.M. Ashton, Fred & Martha Nance, Sharon & Jerry Clement, Dr. Paul Thomas, Dr. Jean Tan and Mark Conner. Memorials may be made to Neapolis United Methodist Church.
