SULLIVAN, Mrs. Katherine Etheridge. Born July 15, 1924. Passed away Sunday, March 28, 2010. She was the daughter of the late James A. and Charlie Ethel Etheridge. She is preceded in death by her only sister, Louise E. and brother-in-law Eugene Reynolds. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Dr. Robert D. Sullivan; daughters, Cherry Sullivan and Candy (Steven) Sullivan Lindsay; 5 Granddaughters, Lisa Dubroc, Rachel (Jon) Maxwell, Laura Dickens, Sarah and Rebekah Burlason; 5 great grandchildren, Abigail and Jon Paul Maxwell, Lorelei and Karleigh Dickens, and Lilly Chambliss. Much loved by nephew, Chuck Reynolds and his wife Lou. Katherine grew up in East Nashville and graduated from East High School in 1943. She attended Grace Avenue Church of Christ where her dear friend Jim Bill McInteer was minister. At the beginning of World War II, she met and married her true love, Bob Sullivan. While he served over sea's, she had a Girl Scout Troop and was a Red Cross Volunteer at the Berry Field Canteen. She is well known for her work with her mother planning and sewing beautiful gowns for weddings. As a cancer survivor she was a tireless volunteer for the Reach to the Recovery Program and other cancer charities. She was also a longtime member and former President of the Franklin Civitan Club. She was very active in Berry's Chapel Church of Christ and the Southeastern Council of Optometry Women's Auxiliary. Most recently she was a resident of Claiborne Hughes Nursing Home where she was cared for with love and affection. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the American Cancer Society. Services will be conducted at 1:00pm Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home with Pastor Jerry Barber officiating. Interment and graveside service will take place at 2:30pm Tuesday at Spring Hill Cemetery in Nashville, TN. Active Pallbearers: Dr. Bill Jones, David Egan, Steven Lindsay, Chuck Reynolds, David Swain, Kenny Young. Honorary Pallbearers: Randall Wyatt, Dr. Edmund Reed, Dr. David Attaya, Ed Moody, & Members of the Franklin Civitan Club.
