Louise Roberts Dement, age 87, wife of the late Albert Mac Dement, passed away in Spring Hill on August 9, 2011. Louise was born on April 22, 1924, the daughter of the late McLemore Roberts and Nan Miner Roberts. She held a bachelor's degree in Education from the University of Tennessee and a master's degree from Middle Tennessee State University. During World War II, she served in the U.S. Navy WAVES. Louise had a long career as a teacher of homebound students, beginning in Bedford County and later moving to Franklin County. She retired from the Franklin County school system in 1985. She was a former member of the First Presbyterian Church at Normandy and Tullahoma and the Abundant Life Church at Decherd. Louise is survived by her three daughters, Nan Kopleck of Spring Hill, Karen Dement of Los Altos, California, and Lyle Bartlett of San Jose, California; her sister, Nancy Haywood of Texas; her brothers, Paul McLemore "Mike" Roberts and Joseph Harold "Joe" Roberts, both of South Carolina; three grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and several lifelong friends. Louise was interred at Hollywood Cemetery in Wartrace following a private service. Memorial donations may be made to her favorite charity, the Franklin County Humane Society (Animal Harbor) at P.O.
