MILLS, Mrs. Margaret Gardner Peck went to be with the Lord on November 4, 2012. Margaret was born March 4, 1926 in Franklin, TN. Her maternal grandfather was the late Fred J. Page, former Superintendent of Williamson County Schools and for whom Page High and Page Middle Schools were names. Mrs. Mills was of the Methodist faith. Mrs. Mills worked for the U.S. War Department in Washington, DC. She married Leon C. Mills in 1946, and resided in Manassas, VA 34 years. She raised six children and taught for the Prince William county Schools. In 1980, she returned to Tennessee as a resident of Nashville until her departure to Heaven. She employed with the Tennessee State Department of Human Services for 12 years serving the residents of Nashville and Davidson County. She was preceded in death by her parents, Myron King Peck, Jr. and Annie Louise Page Peck, two sisters - Nancy Peck Walker of Fairview, TN and Sadie Peck Fox of Haymarket, VA, four brothers - Myron King Peck, III, Fred J. Peck, Joe Page Peck and Matthew Buckner Peck, her daughter, Grace Louise Silver-Stiers and the father of her children, Leon Carlyle Mills, Sr. Mrs. Mills is survived by her children, Maggie (Charles) Shelton of Walnut Cove, NC, Leon C. (Debbie) Mills, Jr. of Pensacola, FL, Julian J. Mills of Powhatan, VA, Anita (David) Schwartz of Ruckersville, VA and Matthew J. (Linda) Mills of Mechanicsville, VA and a very special nephew, Fred J. Peck, Jr. and wife Sandra of Nashville, TN. Mrs. Mills was the grandmother to 12 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted 9:00AM Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home, Jim Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
