HAINS, Mrs. Martha John Binkley, age 61 of Franklin, TN, September 25, 2012. A graduate of St. Cecilia Academy, the University of South Carolina and Peabody School of Education at Vanderbilt. Martha was a member of The Nashville Girls Cotillion, the Junior League of Nashville, and St. Andrew Lutheran Church. Martha shared her love of life by working with young people at Overbrook School, Harding Academy, St. Paul's Christian Academy, and Harpeth Academy/BGA. She was an avid tennis player, loved all God's creatures and the outdoors. It was impossible not to love Martha Hains. Her gentleness of spirit and her courage in the face of adversity, grace and humor showed all who knew her that life should be lived and cherished every day. Spending time with her family and friends and in her garden gave Martha the greatest of pleasures. Her church friends were especially dear to her heart. Preceded in death by her father, Joseph Pitts Binkley and her mother Martha John Ormes Binkley. Survived by her devoted husband, Jonathan Peter Hains; daughter, Sarah Kathleen Hains; brothers, Joseph Pitts (Suzanne) Binkley, Lucianne Binkley Diamond and Michael Weimar (Sandy) Binkley; sister in-law, Kathy (John) Matter; seven nieces and two nephews. A Celebration of Martha's life for family and close friends of the Hains family will be held 1:00PM Friday, September 28, 2012 at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, Franklin, TN, Pastor Lippard officiating. The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the many friends of the Hains family for their love and support, especially Elliott and Tom McNiel and Beverly and Bob Headly.
