Mrs. Maye Hill

HILL, Mrs. Maye Tomlin, age 82 of Franklin, TN passed away peacefully with her husband Homer at her side. Born August 16, 1930 to the late Albert & Lanie Wray Tomlin. Preceded in death by her brother, Rev. William H. Tomlin. She was a long time member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church and worked with her husband over the years farming and later assisted him in owning and operating Countryside Hardware in the Grassland community. She enjoyed flowers, decorating, stain glass and she loved her Vanderbilt Commodores football and basketball. A 1948 graduate of Franklin High School, she briefly worked at National Life before marrying in 1949. She is survived by her spouse of 64 years, Homer R. Hill, Sr. She was his 1946 Homecoming Queen at Franklin High School. Also survived by two sons, Roger Hill and Randy (Cyndie) Hill; two grandchildren, Heidi M. Hill and Holly Y. Hill; sister, Thelma Fly of Franklin; brother, Rev. A. Wray (Mary Margaret) Tomlin of Birmingham, AL; sister in-law, Kay Tomlin of Brentwood, TN and many nieces, nephews and longtime friends. Graveside services will be conducted 1:00PM Monday, August 5, 2013 at Williamson Memorial Gardens, Pastor David Bradley & Pastor Ryan Bennett officiating. Visitation 4-6PM Sunday and one hour prior to the service at Williamson Memorial. Family & Friends will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the Howard Cope Sunday School Class at Bethlehem United Methodist Church.
