ROSS, Mrs. Muriel Holcomb, age 89 of Franklin, TN, passed away peacefully Thursday, March 17, 2011 at Southern Care Assisted Living in Franklin, TN. Mrs. Ross was born July 15, 1921 in Vicksburg, MI. She was a Registered Nurse and an honors graduate of the University Of Michigan School Of Nursing in 1943. Nearly forty years later she earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree from West Virginia State University. After her marriage and while raising her family, she lived and practiced nursing in Charleston, WV, Vancouver, WA, Squamish, B.C. Canada and Fullerton, CA. Mrs. Ross moved to middle Tennessee in 2005 from Fullerton, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Esther Holcomb of Vicksburg, MI; her husband of 55 years, Ralph E. Ross of Fullerton, CA; her brother, Albert A. Holcomb of Kalamazoo, MI; and her son, Dr. David A. Ross of Edmonds, WA. She is survived by her sons, Jon D. (Suzy) Ross of Brentwood, TN and Michael L. Ross of Tahuya, WA; granddaughters, Amy Ross (Doug) Weber of Franklin, TN and Carrie Ross (Patrick) Wilson of Brentwood, TN; great-grandsons, Jacob Ross Wilson and Jonathan Graham Wilson of Brentwood, TN; niece, Melinda (George) Cekola of Kalamazoo, MI; nephew, James A. (Kathy) Holcomb of Sierra Madre, CA, several great-nieces and nephews; and close family friends, Ann and Warren Fisher of Selinsgrove, PA. A memorial service will be held for Mrs. Ross on Tuesday, March 22 at 4:00PM at the First Presbyterian Church of Franklin conducted by Dr. Thomas D. Walker and Pastor Christopher A. Joiner.
