NURRE, Thomas Charles - Age 91, February 11, 2012, of Franklin, TN and formerly of Wisconsin Rapids, WI and Downers Grove, IL. Born in
Bloomington IN, graduated from Georgetown University, then served in WWII as a Lieutenant in the US Navy. He was employed by the Nurre Glass Company and International Paper Company. He was an enthusiastic sailor and loved living in the home he built for his retirement, which sat on the banks of the Wisconsin River. Preceded in death by parents, Joseph and Agnes Kleine Nurre; siblings, Joseph, John, and Mary Agnes Nurre. Survived by his wife of 66 years, Margaret O'Hearn Nurre; sister,
Ruth Brennan of San Leandro, CA; sons, Thomas (Miyuki) Nurre of Shanghai, John of Sacramento, Stephen of Payson, AZ, David of Franklin, TN, Robert of Baraboo, WI; daughter, Susan (David) Surbaugh of Franklin, TN; grandchildren, Sarah Nurre, Thomas Surbaugh, Pasha Surbaugh; greatgrandchild, Truitt Surbaugh. A funeral mass will
be held at the old St. Philip Catholic Church on Monday, February 27, 2012 at 3:30pm. Memorials may be made to The Gentry Foundation of Franklin, c/o Evelyn Hickerson, 2226 Henpeck Lane, Franklin, TN 37064.
