JONES, Mr. Wade C., age 84 of Shelbyville, TN formerly of Franklin, TN, October 1, 2013. Veteran U.S. Army Sargent who served in the Korean War and received two Purple Hearts, a Bronze Star and the Medal of Valor. Renowned local baseball player who onetime received a contract to play for the Cincinnati Reds. Owner & Operator of Atlas Septic Service. Retired from Mid State Steel Co. Member of the American Legion Post 23 Shelbyville. Survived by wife of 34 years, Marjorie Poteete Jones of Shelbyville, TN; sons, Terry (Ramona) Jones of Nashville, TN & Jimmy (Showna) Jones of Shelbyville, TN; brothers, Amos Jones of Christiana, TN & Joe Paul Jones of College Grove, TN; sister, Ruth Alderson of Thompsons Station, TN; grandchildren, Josh, Melea, Sarah, Lillie Beth, Katelynn Bettywade, Emily Elizabeth, Joseph, Cody, Marie, Eddie, Jennifer Michelle & Jonathan; great grandchildren, Alexia, Hayden & Tanner. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00PM Friday, October 4, 2013 at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home, Bo. William Chester officiating. Interment, Williamson Memorial Gardens.
