AMBROGI, WALTER THOMAS III of Nashville, TN passed away peacefully on Sunday, Sept. 22, 2013 after a valiant battle with cancer. Survived by children Michael Thomas Ambrogi, Nashville ,TN and Maria (Prescott) Ambrogi Weldon, Abingdon, VA and beloved grandson Jackson Fields Weldon. Loving parents Walter and Mildred Ambrogi, Franklin, TN. Sisters Mary (Gary) Mitchell, Thompson Station, TN and Roseann (Mark) Elliott, Spring Hill, TN and life long partner Sandy Ambrogi, Nashville, TN. Also survived by 10 nieces and nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews. Walt was born in Patterson, NJ on Feb. 15, 1953. He attended the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and remained an avid Big Orange fan his entire life. He loved all sports, fishing, camping, and spending time with children. He was a Boy Scoutmaster and a girls' basketball head coach at St. Bernard. He was co-owner and head chef of Ambrosia Catering, Nashville for almost two decades. Visitation on Thursday Sept. 26, 11 am to 1 pm St. Henry's Catholic Church, 6401 Harding Rd., Nashville, 37205. Funeral mass following at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers, Walt has asked that memorials be made to the Family Life Center, 1716 Rosa L. Parks Blvd., Nashville, 37208 where he so generously donated his time and talents.
