Mr. Walter Sharp

SHARP, Mr. Walter Martin, age 73 of Franklin, TN. Passed away at his home on December 31, 2010. Preceded in death by parents, Alfred D. and Margaret M. Sharp; brother, Alfred D. Sharp, Jr. of Nashville. Survived by daughters, Marnie Sharp and Leslie (Shea) Longshore; sister, Ann S. (Robert) Street; grandchildren, Shea Jr., Madeleine and Martin Jackson; a sister-in-law and several nieces and nephews. Being his own hero was Martin's goal. As such, he had a variety of hobbies and occupations. A mechanical engineer by profession, he was also a small plane pilot, a racer of motorcycles and cars, a holder of patents on industrial equipment and processes, and a designer of an auxiliary fuel system for airplanes. He was a graduate of The McCallie School and Vanderbilt University School of Engineering. Memorial Services will be held 2:00pm Monday, January 3, 2010 at Williamson Memorial, Ward Jones officiating.
