Ms. Elizabeth Snodgrass

SNODGRASS, Elizabeth Ann (McConnell), age 87, of Franklin, went to be with the Lord on November 2nd, 2011 in Franklin, Tn. Elizabeth was born April 1, 1924 in Scott County, VA to William Worley and Dovie (Alley) McConnell. She spent most of her adult life in Gate City, VA and Kingsport, TN and later relocated to Franklin, TN where she resided at Steeplechase Manor. She attended Gracepointe Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry L. Snodgrass, brothers Robert Eugene and William Lyle and sisters, Dona White, Margaret Pendleton, Lillian Cross, Frankie Peters, Agnes Bellamy, Wanda Webb and Venus Booth. She is survived by a daughter, Sharon Ramey, Kingsport, Tn; two sons, Dr. David Snodgrass, Brentwood, Tn. and Lt. Col. (Ret.) Harry Snodgrass, Fredricksburg, Va.; six grandchildren, David Peyton Snodgrass, Matthew Snodgrass, Margarette Snodgrass, Brian Snodgrass, Courtney Snodgrass Howell and Anthony Ramey, four great-grandchildren, a sister, Mary Sue Mohr and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family is deeply grateful to those who comforted and cared for Elizabeth during the difficult last stages of her life. There will not be a visitation. Graveside services will be held on Friday, November 4th at 2pm at Holston View Cemetery in Weber City, Va. where she will be laid to rest alongside her parents and other siblings. The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to the local chapter of the American Cancer Society.
