Myra Hook

Myra Sue "Susie" Van Hook, age 81 of Brentwood, TN passed away May 30, 2018. Susie worked hard to put herself through college. She received her bachelor's degree in education from Trevecca Nazarene University. Although this was one of her greatest accomplishments, her real passion was caring for her family. She invested her whole self into making sure that they were encouraged, confident and loved. Susie's hobbies and passions included gardening, cooking, knitting and Bible study. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ramsey and Ouida Hayes; sisters, Becky Hayes and Jane Nix. Survived by her loving husband of 56 years, James "Jim" Van Hook; son, Brent (Susan Michelle) Van Hook; daughter, Susan (Rod) Riley; grandchildren, Matthew and John David Van Hook and Anna and Jack Riley and sister, Martha Attig. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00PM Monday, June 4, 2018 at First Church of the Nazarene, 510 Woodland Street Nashville, TN 37206, (615) 255-1289. Visitation will be held Sunday 4-6:00PM at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home and Monday, one hour prior to the service at the Church. Memorials may be made to the Trevecca Nazarene University Teaching Scholarship Fund in Memory of Myra Sue Van Hook.
