Medaugh, Nancy Sumners 1931-2019. Nancy was born in Fayetteville, Tennessee and grew up in nearby Pearl City along the Elk River, where she developed her love of the water and swimming. She graduated from Central High School. From there she went on to graduate from Middle Tennessee State University in 1953, where she was recognized in Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges. Nancy began her teaching career at Central High in Nashville, where she taught typing and shorthand. She soon relocated to a new school, Glencliff High School, where she taught until her retirement in 1986 after 33 years. She was an admired teacher, faculty member, and Yearbook advisor. After her retirement, Nancy was a valued volunteer for 25 years at Alive Hospice. Nancy was known for her commitment, faithfulness, and brownies at Pasquo Church of Christ, where she was active in serving her Lord, Jesus. For 40 years she did a card ministry, served on the Hotline list, took food to shut-ins, attended the weekly prayer breakfast and was part of the annual Ladies' Day. Nancy was a beloved wife, aunt, great aunt, and friend to many. Nancy, and her husband Bob, traveled the world together with a special group of friends and enjoyed sharing stories of these adventures with others.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ruth Farrar Sumners and Tom Sumners, and her sister Jane (Paul) Phillips. Nancy is survived by her beloved husband of 53 years, Robert Walter Medaugh, brother Tim (Dianne) Sumners, sister-in-law Marty Phipps, and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to express special thanks to Nancy's neighbors, church family, life-long college friends, and fellow teachers for their faithful and dear friendships.
