Mr. Newton York Walker, Jr., age 90 of Franklin, TN, April 28, 2014. Deacon at Fourth Avenue Church of Christ and served as Treasurer of the church. He served as Secretary/Treasurer of the Tennessee Auto Association. Member of the National Auto Dealer Association. GM Dealer for Chevrolet and Oldsmobile where he was co-owner with Walker Chevrolet Dealership. Board member of Lipscomb University. Member of the AM Burton Society and Lipscomb Legacy Society. Member of Battle Ground Academy Advisory Board and member of the Platonic Society. Preceded in death by parents, Newton York, Sr. and Rosa Helm Walker; sister, Mary Jane Walker Smith and his first wife, Sara Pauline Walker. Survived by: wife, Ann Travis Vaughn Walker; son, Newton York III (Darlene) Walker; daughter, Ann Stockton Walker; brother, William H. (Louise) Walker; grandchildren, Laura (Daniel) Mendoza and Newton York IV (Marissa) Walker; great grandchild, Amelia Mendoza. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home, David Thomley officiating. Interment Mt. Hope Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Young Men of the Battle Ground Academy Platonic Society. Honorary pallbearers will be All Elders and Deacons at the Brentwood Church of Christ, the president of Battle Ground Academy, the president of Lipscomb University, the president of Florida College, Allen Little, Judge Jerry Ewell, Scott Saunders, Randall Pardue, Walt Lever, Tommy Jackson, Joe Kinzer, Ralph Downey, Clyde Pewitt, William Bell, Tommy Adair, David Potts and Daniel Caldwell.
