Pamela Ann Matchett, 79, resident of Thompson Station, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 14, 2023. Pam was born on July 8, 1943, in Burlington, North Carolina, to her late parents, Robert Clayton Matchett and Lois Wolfe Matchett. In high school, Pamela was popular and well-liked by teachers and fellow students, and she participated in various clubs, such as serving on the student council, the yearbook staff, and volunteering to help polio patients at the Children's Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. She graduated from the Ohio University in Athens, Ohio, in 1965 and continued her education at the DT Watson Institute in Sewickley, Pennsylvania, where she received her degree in Physical Therapy. Throughout her career, Pamela touched many patients' lives with her love, dedication, and upbeat personality. She was also known for her love of fashion and enjoyed shopping for outfits, candies, and special gifts in Lazarus. Additionally, Pam had a passion for art and created many beautiful paintings and ceramics. She also traveled extensively throughout the United States and Europe by car, train, and single-engine planes, accompanied by her children and piloted by her husband, Don, and father, Bob. Survivors include her daughters, Jennifer Morton, Kristin Wessling and her husband, Mike Wessling; son, Erik Kothen; former husband and longtime companion, Donald Kothenbeutel; sister, Pat Matchett Browning and her husband, Bill Browning; grandchildren, Anna Wessling, Nick Wessling, Elena Bernard, Lilian Bernard, Natalie Kothen, Madeline Kothen; and nephew, William Browning III, his children children Collin, Kate, and Avery..
