February 1, 1944 — December 24, 2015

Rebecca Sue Gardner, age 71 of Nashville, TN passed away December 24, 2015. Born in Wolflake, IN to the late Lelan and Katherine Poppy. She graduated from Ball State University. She was employed by Glendale United Methodist Church and Bridgestone Firestone after moving to Nashville with her husband, Larry Ross Gardner, in 1974, until her retirement in 2011. She enjoyed domestic and international travel and was a member of the National Parks society. While traveling, Becky enjoyed hiking, camping, square dancing, clogging and attending festivals and craft fairs. She was an avid supporter of Vanderbilt University basketball, Titans football and Predators hockey, as well as, supporting her grandchildren in all they did. She has been a member of Calvary United Methodist Church since 1982.
Preceded in death by husband, Larry Ross Gardner; siblings, Lelan Poppy and Elizabeth Poppy Burnside.
Survived by sons, Brady (Cathy) Gardner and Brett (Lauri) Gardner; grandchildren, Ross, Grace, Lawson, Courtney, Jason and Jessie Gardner.
A memorial service will be held at 2pm on Saturday, January 9th at Calvary United Methodist Church in Green Hills. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 8th from 4-6pm and on Saturday, January 9th from 1-2pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the AFTD organization (American Frontotemporal Degeneration) at www.theaftd.org or St. Jude's Children's Hospital in lieu of flowers.
