TIDWELL, Reverend Dorris Alvin, born April 25, 1933 went to his heavenly reward December the 1st. Survived by wife Patricia Ann Boothe Tidwell; children: Linda Kay (Bill) Boner, Sandra Darling Holland, James Michael (Anitha) Tidwell, and Terry Lee (Vickie) Tidwell, Donna McGraw, and Nannette Cordova, with a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren, brother: Leechy Harold (Lee) Tidwell, sisters: Lois Marie Pewitt and Joyce Elizabeth Pewitt. He is preceded in death by parents: Manley and Ethel Stinson Tidwell, first wife Dorothy Marie Pewitt, children Jerry Alvin, Kenneth Wayne and grandchildren Jason Samuel Tidwell and Amanda Dawn Tidwell, brothers Ernest J., Reverend Homer Clyde, Leslie Robert (Bob), Clifton Green, Arthur Felix, Lowell Montgomery, Leon Cyrel, sister: Judia Mai (Judy), Ruby Hazel, Ester Sylvia. Dorris Tidwell is best remembered as a pastor, evangelist, gospel singer and gospel songwriter. His ministry began at the Pewitt Chapel (Fairview) in the 1950s and extened nationwide. He leaves behind a long list of gospel album recordings with his family and spiritual influences that will continue guiding people to the Lord Jesus Christ. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00PM Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home, Pastor Howard Carol & Pastor James Tidwell officiating. Burial will follow at Hudgins Cemetery in Fairview, TN. Pallbearers will be grandsons. Visitation will be 3-7PM Tuesday at WILLIAMSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 615-794-2289.
