Richard Austin Poppendorf, age 86 of Dickson, TN went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 21, 2019.
Richard was born in Chicago, IL on April 8, 1933, son of the late Otto & Sadie Poppendorf.
He served in the U.S Army as 2nd Lieutenant from 1955 - 1957.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Elizabeth Poppendorf.
Mr. Poppendorf is survived by his son, David Victor (Barbara) Poppendorf; daughter, Anne Bowling; 3 grandchildren, Alexandria, Rebecca & Melissa; & 3 greatgrandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Inurnment will take place at a later date in Williamson Memorial Gardens, with military honors.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Dickson County Humane Society in loving memory of Richard Austin Poppendorf.
