Mrs. Rita Gaynelle Fox Warf, age 90, and a resident of the Greenbrier Community in Williamson County, passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2016.
A funeral service will the held 2:00PM Friday, September 16, 2016 at Williamson Memorial in Franklin. Burial will follow in Greenbrier Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation 4-8:00PM Thursday and one hour prior to the service Friday. Doctor Marty Bell will conduct services.
Rita Warf was born to Lela Potts Fox and Reese Russell Fox in Maury County on August 7, 1926. She attended school at Bethel and Santa Fe in Maury County. She went on to MTSU and later taught school for several years. She truly loved when past students sought her out. She married Luther Brown Warf on July 7, 1946 after he came home from serving in the U.S. Army. Together they raised four children. Rita was active in the Greenbrier United Methodist Church and the Home Demonstration Club.
She is survived by four children: Merita Sheryl Rainey, Michael Kerry Warf (Charlene), Rick Dean Warf (Donna) all of Franklin, and Madonna Faye Riggins (Jimmy) of Nashville, 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Also survived by sister Bettye June Wilt and brother Larry Fox both of Maury County and special friends Audrey Baker, Alma Gossett, and Mary Tidwell.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by husband Luther and brother Robert Fox. Pallbearers will be the sons and grandsons.
