Robert Gross

August 5, 1928 — July 19, 2015

Mr. Robert L. "Bob" Gross, age 86 of Franklin, TN passed away July 19, 2015. A member of Clearview Baptist Church and a Veteran of the US Army. Bob graduated from University of Missouri with a Bachelor's degree in Education in 1954. He went on to graduate from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity Degree in 1961. In 1961, he was appointed as Home Missionary of the Southern Baptist Convention. He was the Director of the Baptist Neighborhood Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico for ten years. In 1991, Bob retired as the Director of Migrant Mission Center in Hope, Arkansas after serving there for 20 years. Bob was committed to God and His word, and found comfort and hope in his personal relationship with Christ. As Bob said, "This world is not our final destination; we are just passing through. Heaven is the final goal for many of us." Preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Gross and second wife, Karen Gross; parents Vern and Gwendolyn Lentz Gross; sister, Nancy Werst. Survived by sons, Keith (Alisha) Gross, Billy Gross and Larry Gross; daughters, Linda (James) Lollies and JaNan (Adam) Barger; brother, Ken (Glenda) Gross; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Services will be conducted at 9:00AM Thursday, July 23, 2015 at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home, John Gardner officiating. Visitation will be held 4-7PM Wednesday. Burial in Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Clarion Sunday School Class. Memorial contributions may be made to Clearview Baptist Church.
