Robert Laney

Robert "Bob" Laney, age 73 of Franklin, TN passed away on September 5, 2017 at home. Born in Brownsville, TN to the late John Thomas Laney and Marye Nell Rice Laney. Bob was a veteran of the US Marine Reserves. He retired from State Farm after 39 years of service. An avid golfer and member of the Vanderbilt Legends Club. He enjoyed hunting when he was younger and was an avid University of Tennessee fan. He also enjoyed being a part of his neighborhood and looking after it. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He leaves behind his loving wife of 50 years, Judy Welch Laney; children, Hunter (Shannon) Laney and Heather Laney; brother, Joel (Martha) Laney. A memorial service will be held at 1:00PM on Friday, September 8, 2017 at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home, David Odom officiating. Visitation will be held 4-7PM Thursday and one hour prior to service. In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or the charity of your choice.
