Robert Smith Jr.

Robert Lucien "Bob" Smith, Jr., age 85 of Franklin, TN went to be with the Lord on January 12, 2019. Graduate of East High School. Received his Bachelor of Arts from Baylor University and his Master of Divinity from Dallas Theological Seminary. He pastored two churches. He worked for several years for the State of Tennessee. Bob then went to work as a Commercial Artist with E.Z. Silkscreen Company with forty years of service. For many years Bob was active in prison ministry, first in Nashville, then in Franklin. His interests included sketching, painting, fishing and photography. More importantly, he always wanted to glorify his Lord and Savior and loved spending time with family and friends. Survived by: wife, Margaret Ann Smith of Franklin, TN; son, Scott (Jeanette) Smith of Lynnville, TN; step daughters, Julia (Eric) Braun of Bellevue, WA and Karen Rutherford of Murfreesboro, TN; sister, Jane (George) Thompson of Nashville, TN; grandchildren, Shanna (Matthew) Woodard, Stephanie (David) Merritt, Meagan Hoover and Liliana Rose Braun; great grandchildren, Ryan, Cole and Laine Woodard and Andrew Merritt. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 PM Friday, January 18, 2019 at Christ Community Church, 1215 Hillsboro Road, Franklin, TN 37069. Pastor Mike Smith and Jim Taylor will officiate.
