Roy Hixson Steiner passed away on the morning of Monday, April 16, 2018 in Nashville, Tennessee at 83 years of age.
He was the perfect father-in-law. When I asked for his guidance he gave it, when I didn't he said nothing. My wife and her entire family are saddened by his passing yet relieved by the fact the suffering is over. He was a wonderful father, a loving husband, and a very successful businessman in the Rossville, GA area for more than 40 years.
Roy was a man' s man. A lifetime member of the Fairview Baptist Church, a Rossville Bulldog, a Bobby Dodd football player and a proud Georgia Tech Alumnus. He was laid back and cool. I will miss him. With a guy like that you simply tip your hat and say well done my friend.
Roy married his high school sweetheart, Barbara Clark, in 1952. They were married for 66 years. She was there at his side as he passed from this world. He will be missed by his 3 children and their spouses, Theresa & Jim Place, Denise & Tim Downey, and Matthew & Michele Steiner, his sister Pat Falls as well as his 6 grandchildren.
There will be a celebration of life in Nashville, TN for family and friends in the latter part of May.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to St. Jude.
In conclusion, the highest praise we could offer on Roy's behalf is that we are better people for having had the privilege of knowing him. May God bless him and hold him closely in his arms.
