Mr. Royce Edward Stubblefield, age 69 of Brentwood, TN passed away
August 10, 2016 at his home on Wilson Pike. Survived by wife, Lola,
brother Frank Weiland Stubblefield of Bellport, Long Island, NY, and sister, Kathy
Stubblefield Fox (Billy) of Cornersville, TN. He received his Bachelors Degree in Mathematics from Tennessee Tech University and later a Bachelors Degree in Business
Administration from University of Tennessee Chattanooga. Professionally he
worked in the information technology field as a network engineer.
Stubb, as he was known to his family and friends, was an avid deer hunter. During his hunting career he harvested 267 deer, donating the venison to less fortunate families in the neighborhood and to the Tennessee Hunters for the Hungry program. Stubb was also a passionate motorcyclist and made multiple trips out west and to Canada and Alaska. He loved to play chess. Playing online under the nickname "STUBB" at www.stansco.com, he was number one in the "Most Wins" category, completing over nine thousand games with a record of 6608/2299/353. Often times he would have a hundred or more games going on at one time. He took great pleasure in rescuing animals of all kinds especially those injured or orphaned.
The family would like to express their gratitude and appreciation to Tom Holliday (RN), Charita "Peaches" Norris (CNA), Allison McGee (LCSW) and all the other staff at Willowbrook Hospice for the exceptional care they gave Stubb.
