Ruth Reid Rutledge, formerly of Gurley, died July 11, 2014. She was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, to Rev. John Dee Dexter and Bessie Mae Reid. She was married to the late Floyd M. Rutledge for 47 years. She was a homemaker, mother, grandmother and a faithful member of her church, where she was dedicated to missions and missionaries. She is survived by her six children: Linda Ross, Phil Rutledge, Anne (Don) Twining, Susan (Dale) Miller, Beth (Darryl) Wood and Jan (Mark) Milden; eleven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the family will be held on Sunday, July 13, 3:00-5:00 PM at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home, 3009 Columbia Avenue, Franklin, TN. A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 14, at 11:00 AM in the Heritage Chapel of Nashville First Church of the Nazarene, 510 Woodland Street, with visitation one hour prior to the service.
Graveside service and interment will be Monday, July 14, at 4:00 PM at Huntsville Memory Gardens, 6810 University Drive, Huntsville, AL.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gideons International.
