LADD, Mrs. Sara Belle Sawyer, age 87 of Arrington, TN passed away on April 22, 2014. A native of Williamson County, she was the daughter of the late Edward Wilton Sawyer and Nellie Reese Sawyer and was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Thomas Edward Ladd. Survived by daughters, Elaine (Rick) Warwick of Franklin and Annice (Bob) Bowen of Arrington; sisters, Mae Sanders of Franklin and Martha Jane Butler of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Linda Michelle Bowen of Franklin and Dr. Michael (Lizza) Bowen of Dallas, TX; great grandchildren, Thomas Bennett Bowen, Isabelle Leigh Bowen, and Kathryn Roseberry Bowen all of Dallas, TX. A native of Williamson County, she graduated from Franklin High School in 1944 and worked for a time at Sedberry Industries. She was the consummate homemaker, a skilled seamstress, extraordinary cook, a quilter, and gardener. She actively participated in school activities as her girls grew up. She was a lifelong Methodist and always involved in her church having planned many a spaghetti supper. She was a charter member of Crievewood United Methodist Church in Nashville, and, in her early and late years a member of First United Methodist Church in Franklin. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00AM Monday, April 28, 2014 at Franklin First United Methodist Church, Dr. Lynn Hill officiating. Interment, Mt. Hope Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Larry Ladd, Jerry Alexander, Steve Ladd, Tom Giddens, Lee Sanders, Eddie Sanders, Sam Long and Phillip George. Honorary pallbearers will be the Horace Edgmon Sunday School Class. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Franklin First United Methodist Church Building Fund. Visitation will be 2-5PM Sunday at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at Franklin First United Methodist.
