Sara Miles Martin, age 79 of Nashville, TN passed away peacefully on January 10, 2015. Sara was a spark in the lives of many and will be missed beyond measure. She was born in Murfreesboro, TN on June 11, 1935 and attended Central High School. After graduating from Middle TN State University in 1957 she served as school teacher where she invested in the lives of children for over 25 years. She was also an active member and Sunday School teacher at Brentwood United Methodist Church. Sara was the consummate wife, mother and grandmother and will forever be a role model to all. She was predeceased by her parents Murray T. and Ernestine W. Miles and sisters, June M. Miles and Nena Miles Bagwell. Sara is lovingly remembered by her husband of 58 years, Jesse E. Martin, three siblings, Murray (Mary Jane) Miles of Culleoka, TN, Ernestine (Pal) Hawkins of Old Hickory, and Kenneth (Janet) Miles of Spring Hill. She is also survived by her two sons; Mickey Martin & Marty Martin, daughters- in-law Dibbie Martin and Angela Martin, and five grandchildren whom she absolutely adored: Sara Martin, Ross Martin, Drew Martin, Katie Martin & Emily Martin, all of Nashville TN. Services to celebrate her life will be held at First Presbyterian Church, 4815 Franklin Road, Nashville TN. Visitation will be Monday, January 12th from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. in the Cheek House and funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 13th at 11:00 a.m. in the Sanctuary with Todd Jones and Stuart Gordon officiating. Active pall bearers are Jon Bechtel, Lee Blank, Gary Collier, Steve Fridrich, Jerry Patterson, and Chip Williams. Honorary pall bearers are Wayne Evans, Bob Reed, and Bill Underhill.
