Tammie Tucker had a smile that could light up any room, a sunshiny face that will forever be cherished by those who knew her. Her love for life, for people, and most of all, for the Lord, was evident in everything she did. Whether she was being a devoted wife to James, caring for children, teaching Sunday school, or traveling the world, Tammie’s heart was always full of joy, love, and faith. She was known for her kindness, always offering a warm hug, a kind word, and a prayer to those around her.
Tammie was incredibly proud to be James' wife and loved him deeply. She was also deeply devoted to her role as a nanny to Cassidy, watching her grow up with a heart full of love. When Tammie spoke about Cassidy, her face would light up with pure joy.
A lifelong learner, Tammie had an insatiable curiosity. She taught herself multiple languages, including Spanish, Latin, French, Hebrew, and Greek. Her love for knowledge led her on a brave adventure in 2022, when she traveled to Europe solo to meet the teachers who had guided her on her journey.
Her love for animals was equally deep. Tammie adored her cats, often asking about them when she was away, and she devoted time to house-sitting for others to make sure their pets were cared for.
Despite battling numerous health challenges throughout her life, Tammie was a fighter, never giving up and always pushing forward with strength and courage. Her unwavering faith was her anchor, and she held onto it to the very end. As she often said, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
Tammie leaves behind her beloved husband of 12 years, James Tucker; her sister, Pamela Picou; her mother-in-law, Janice Tucker; as well as various brother and sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews, and close friends, including Julie Wallace and Gretchen Turpen. She was preceded in death by her mother, Bonnie Ann Haager Crary, and her nephew, Bradley Nathaniel Picou.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the medical staff and caregivers at Williamson Medical Center, NHC Rehabilitation and Transitional Care, Maury Regional Hospital, and Compassus Palliative Care & Hospice for their care and support. Tammie’s legacy of love, faith, and courage will continue to inspire all who knew her.
