Tim Moss was a fisherman and a disciple of Christ. He passed away October 12 while on a fishing trip with his friends and his son by his side.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Don Earl Moss and Elenore Anderson Moss. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 54 years, Colleen Brickey Moss; sons Stephen (Karen) Moss, Andrew Moss, Matthew (Amy) Moss; daughter Jeannette Moss (Allun) Ren; brothers Don (Diane) Moss and Alan (Pat) Moss; grandchildren Eric and Connor Moss, Jaclyn and Zachary Moss, and Adele and Erin Ren; and several nieces and nephews.
Tim graduated from the University of Utah where he earned both his bachelor's and master's degrees in metallurgical engineering. He married and moved to the Chicago area where he worked for Inland Steel Corp. and retired after 33 years. Responding to a calling as a servant leader in the United Methodist faith, he then took a position of Director of Laity Ministries with the General Board of Discipleship of the United Methodist Church in Nashville, TN. Later he served as Tennessee Conference Lay Leader for several years.
His passions in life were his Lord, his family, his church, his Bible study teaching, and fishing. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, he was loved and respected by all who knew him.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Saturday, Oct. 22 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home in Franklin, TN. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, Oct. 23 at 3:00 pm at Bethlehem United Methodist Church, also in Franklin. Contributions may be made to Bethlehem United Methodist Church, UMCOR, or a ministry of your choosing. Honorary pallbearers: Cope-Simpkins Sunday School Class, TN Conference Laity, and his fishing buddies.
