Van Lyons

Van Thomas Lyons, age 93, passed on to heaven at home in Franklin, TN on May 22, 2016. Van was born in Stewart County, TN and spent most of his adult life in Lake City, KY. Van was a World War II veteran, served in Africa and Europe. He retired at age 80 from Vulcan Materials (formerly Reed Crush Stone), after 50 years of service. Preceded in death by his parents, Thomas "Tot" Lyons and Dessie Elkins Lyons; sister Jewel Lyons Greenup; and grandson, Stuart Wayne Henson. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Margaret Barnes Lyons; daughter, Peggy Lyons Henson. Granddaughter Amber (Jeremy) Hastings; great grandchildren, Halle, Emma and Bryson Hastings; sister, Edna Lyons Melton and Gary Henson. Services will be conducted 3:00PM Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home, Chaplain Aaron Menard officiating. Visitation will be held 5-7PM Tuesday and one hour prior to the service. Burial with military honors will be in Williamson Memorial Gardens.
