Vasyl Pavlovich Koltutskyy passed away in his home on November 15, 2016 at the age of 73. Vasyl was born in Ukraine in 1943 but moved to Franklin, TN in 2006. In his early years, Vasyl served in the Northern Fleet as the Army Sailor for five years. During his service, he met Fidel Castro in Cuba and he loved talking about this event. After serving with the Northern Fleet, he started working in the iron cement factory and worked there for over 40 years. He eventually became a supervisor and then he retired. He loved to read encyclopedias, working outside and gardening. He loved his children, grandchildren, and great grandson very much. In years of persecution of believers, he offered his apartment for orchestra rehearsals and youth gatherings. Even though he was not a member of the church, he loved to help any way he could.
Vasyl is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Hanna Koltutska; his two daughters, Lyudmyla Gaychuk and Anna Koltutskaya; his 3 granddaughters, Katerina Tkachenko, Yuliya Gaychuk, and Yana Kirnitskaya and great grandson, Matthew Tkachenko.
