Velma Sweeney

Mrs. Velma Lankford Sweeney, age 94 of Chapel Hill, TN formerly of Franklin, TN passed away September 5, 2016. Retired after 30 years of service with Williamson Medical Center. She also kept several children over the years. Preceded in death by husband, William H. "Bill" Sweeney. Survived by: daughters, Linda (Billy) Williams of Franklin, TN and Jane (Charlie) Bagsby of Chapel Hill, TN; brother, Billy Lankford of Fairview, TN; grandchildren, Chuck (Stacey) Bagsby, Scott (Angela) Bagsby and Steven (Erin) Bagsby; nine grandchildren; special friend, Sissy Bradley Thompson. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home, Ronnie Johnson officiating. Interment Williamson Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Chuck, Scott, Steven, Clint, Houston, Preston, Tavon, Nicole, Ashtin, Jaela, Aliyah and Baylor. Honorary pallbearers will be Harry Thompson, Nick Lunn, Randy York, Charles Poteete, Kenneth Lankford, George Green, Reese Potts, Raymond Vaughn, and all children that called her "Nanny". Memorials may be made to Monroe Carell Children's Hospital at Williamson Medical Center.
