Vincent Garces

Vincent Dane Garces, age 42 passed away May 15, 2018. Born July 30, 1975 in Tacoma, Washington and moved to California at the age of 1. Vinnie grew up in Glendora, CA and graduated from Charter Oak High School in 1993. Vinnie enlisted in the US Army in 1993 doing his basic training in Fort Benning, GA and assigned to Fort Riley, KS until 1996. He then started his career with Southwest Airlines in Salt Lake City, UT while serving in the Army Reserve. In 1999, Vinnie moved to TN, where he continued working at Southwest Airlines and was then reactivated in the Army in 2004, where he served an 18 month tour in Iraq and was honorably discharged in 2006. Vinnie returned to Southwest Airlines and was employed there until 2016, for a total of 18 years. Vinnie is survived by his Mother, Valarie Deel (Robert), his Father, Rauly Garces Jr. (Helen), a Brother, Anthony Garces (Eileen) and two nieces Emily and Sierra Garces. Vinnie loved the outdoors; fishing, gardening and cooking were hobbies he enjoyed in his spare time. Vinnie and his great stories of his adventures will be greatly missed by the family and friends that loved him deeply. A graveside service with military honors will be held 11:00AM Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery.
