Violet Rose Baker, born June 23, 1922 in Omaha, NE, passed away August 27, 2019 in Zionsville, IN at age 97. She was the wife of Henry Jackson Baker, Jr. and lived in Nashville a number of years. In their day, there was no one closer to her than Elizabeth Thomas Baker and husband Copeland. She was a loving woman of strong character and faith who lived every word of 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 to near perfection.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by sons Phil and Jack Baker, parents Herbert and Margaret Vasholz, brothers Ted, Alfred, Herbert, George and Bob Vasholz, sister Darlene Exum, grandson Andy Baker and daughters-in-law Beverly Baker and Jolene Baker.
She is survived by son Alfred Baker of Zionsville, IN, daughter-in-law Pam Baker of Mt. Washington, KY, sister-in-law Betty Vasholz of Omaha, NE, grandchildren Tony (Holly) Baker of Fairview, TN, Paul (Colette) Baker of Chapel Hill, TN, Bret (Angie) Baker of Woodland Park, CO, Ross (Becky) Baker of Carmel, IN, Dana (Larry) Steinmetz of Mt. Washington, KY, Dawn (Brett) Hawkins of Indianapolis, IN and 7 great grandchildren, Haley and Tyler Steinmetz, Michael, Brittany and Justin Baker, and Thomas and McKenzie Baker.
Visitation will be Tuesday September 3, 2019 at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home in Franklin starting at 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM, then burial at Triune Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Andrew Baker Memorial Scholarship Fund, 102 N. Lebanon St., Suite 200, Lebanon, IN 46052.
