William Crawford

William Edward Crawford, age 85, born in Lincoln County, Tennessee, died December 10, 2014 in Franklin, Tennessee surrounded by his loving family. He was a Korean War Veteran in the US Army and awarded the Purple Heart for his service. He received a BA Degree from Belmont College and Peabody College and MA Degree from Middle Tennessee State University. He taught at Jordonia Training School for Boys, Hendersonville Junior High, and served for several years as Guidance Counselor at Glencliff High School. Preceded in death by parents, Sidney Johnson and Grace Crawford; sisters, Virginia McClanahan and Mildred Dunn and brother John Crawford. Survived by two children Elaine Crawford (Travis) Ballard and Edward Alan (Margarita) Crawford; grandchildren, Julie Nall (Gene) Teele, Sara Nall Haynes, James Nall, Michael Menendez, Megan Crawford and Erin Crawford all of Franklin, Tennessee; siblings: Louise Pitts of Pulaski, Tennessee, Lillian Posey of Fayetteville, Tennessee, Raymond Crawford of New Orleans, Louisiana; Carolyn McInnis of Dallas, Texas, Patricia Moyers of Fayetteville, Tennessee and David Crawford of Fayetteville, Tennessee. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Saturday, December 13, 2014 at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home, Brian Gass officiating. Interment Williamson Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Jay Nall, Gene Teele, Travis Ballard, Larry Pitts, Mark Posey and Richard Posey.
