Bill grew up on a farm in Dandridge, Tennessee, and took the values of family, faith and hard work with him throughout his life. After his father passed when Bill was only 14, young Bill answered adversity by working to help pay for college at TN Tech, where he earned a degree in accounting. He started his career in financial services in 1967, specializing in insurance, estate planning and pensions in Nashville. In 1975 Bill started his own firm, Taylor Financial Corp., which grew to include 3 separate but inter-related business entities, including insurance, pension administration and investment management. Motivated by his abiding faith in God, Bill served as a founding member of Christ Presbyterian Church in the 1980's and Covenant Presbyterian Church in the 1990's, where he continued to serve until his illness. Meanwhile, Bill lead the Taylor Company's growth for 37 years before turning over control to the next Taylor generation in 2012 and fully retiring in 2014 due to effects of his Parkinson's disease and Lewy Body Dementia. While the disease took by degrees the Bill whom we'd always known and loved, it could not take his relationship with His Lord, his love for his family, his hardworking attitude, or his gentlemanly qualities. Bill finished his battle with Parkinson's Disease and Lewy Body Dementia on the morning of Friday, January 12, surrounded by his loving family, who we read selected Psalms and sang the hymn "How Firm a Foundation" in the last minutes before he was called home to his Savior's loving arms. He leaves a legacy of faith, family, service and excellence. Services in care of WILLIAMSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 615-794-2289. www.williamsonmemorial.com
