William Todd Moss, age 65, of College Grove, Tennessee, passed away Sunday February 2, 2025 surrounded by his family. Todd was born June 9, 1959, to the late Mary Gregory Moss and W.L. Moss of Arrington, Tennessee.
After graduating from high school, Todd worked for the Nashville Housing department and attended the Nashville Auto Diesel College (NADC). He worked for Thompson Machinery Caterpillar Dealership in Smyrna for 15 years. In 1993, Todd began his career at NADC where he worked for 32 years until his death.
Todd was a certified HAM radio operator. He enjoyed talking to people all over the world who shared his love of Short-Wave Radio. A member of the Cowboy Action Shooting Society, he participated with the Wartrace Regulators where he shot under the alias "Eli Crow". He was proficient in Revolver, Shotgun, and Rifle. An avid gun collector, Todd was a master gunsmith who helped many people in the College Grove area with unusual guns. Other hobbies included Competition BBQ events. Todd’s Championship Team was called "Smoke in the Grove”, and they won titles at the Williamson County Fair, and other events in Columbia, Burns, Murfreesboro, and Robertson County. During his early adult years, Todd was a big supporter of the Franklin Chapter of the Tennessee Jaycees. His volunteer efforts earned him the rank of Colonial of the Volunteer Corps.
Todd spent time working on engines with his son Levi and escorting Olivia to Father-Daughter dances.
Todd is survived by his devoted wife of 32 years Carol Garrett Moss, Son Levi Moss, and Daughter Olivia Moss; Sister Georgia Viechnicki [Bruce] of Pennsylvania, Uncle John B. Moss (Lynn Garrett), David and Vivian Garrett, and a host of cousins and extended family.
Visitation will be held at Triune Community Church, 7906 Nolensville Road, Arrington, Tennessee on Thursday, February 6, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. followed immediately by a Celebration of Life Service. A private burial will be held at Williamson Memorial Gardens.
