William Wheeler

October 12, 1937 — August 27, 2016

William Jackson "Jack" Wheeler died August 27th at the age of 78. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Billie. He is also survived by his son Whitney (Donita), daughter Catherine (Chuck), and grandchildren: Olivia Rhodes Hartley (Woody), Emma Rhodes, William Wheeler, Nick Wheeler. Jack was a Native Texan. He graduated from North Texas State University, where he met and married Billie Dub Blanton. Most of his professional life was spent in El Paso, Texas where he worked for Aetna Life and Casualty. Upon his 25th anniversary with Aetna, he went into the independent insurance agency business. Jack was an avid golfer and accomplished a "hole in one" on five different occasions. He said " Good, I have a trophy for each of my four grandchildren and one left for the first great grandchild." Jack served as a deacon for nine years at First Presbyterian Church in El Paso, Texas. He loved his time at Harpeth Presbyterian and was active with Congregational Care. He loved his family and friends. In lieu of flowers, please donate in his honor to Harpeth Presbyterian Church, Brentwood, TN. Visitation on Saturday, September 3rd, 2016 from 10-11 and service at 11:00 at Harpeth Presbyterian.
