Willie Scott

June 22, 1930 — November 26, 2016

Willie Eugene "Gene" Scott, age 86 of Franklin, TN. Born in Anson, Texas on June 22, 1930 to Oby D. and Ruby Glaze Scott. He is an Army Air Corp and United States Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He was always proud to call Texas A & M his alma mater. Gene began a career in banking in Anson becoming very involved in church and civic affairs. He married Helen Stephenson in 1959. He moved his family to Nashville, TN in 1969. He became the pioneer of private coaches in the entertainment industry with the opening of Celebrity Coach with clients such as The Rolling Stones, KISS, Lynard Skynard, Eric Clapton, and too many others to list. He was founder/ owner of Kimchelle/Kinda Sweet Music which owns rights to the last known Elvis song in public hands. His love of family and country was only surpassed by his love of God and church. His life has deeply and richly impacted his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was indeed the spiritual leader of his family, and his influence will be forever missed, and his shoes will never be filled. He was preceded in death by son, Bryan Wayne Scott, his parents, two sisters, Matilene Bullard and Teenie Greene and two brothers, Troy D and Jerry Wayne Scott. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Helen, daughter Lori Linn (Wayne) Tywater, son Stephen Eugene Scott, grandsons Daniel Wayne (Stephanie) and Cody Bryan Scott, granddaughter Amanda (Tim) Peden, and 5 great grandchildren: McKynley Grace Peden, Zoe Claire Peden, Charlie Marie Peden, Braxton Wayne Tywater, and Harmony Paige Tywater, three step great grandchildren, Kylie Sherman, Connor Jaco, and Lily Peden, two sisters: Ava Nell (Wilson) McPherson of Ft. Worth, Texas, Emma Huber of Sumpter, South Carolina, one brother, James Lewis (Ramona) Scott of Orange, Texas. Memorial service will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, December 3, 2016 at Community of Faith Nazarene Church, 506 Jordan Rd. Franklin, TN. Ronnie Johnson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, 223 Rosa L.
